Tsuruya is not just a bakery but also a landmark of Kinomoto town. Since 1951, the bakery has been loved by local residents. I frequently find my students of kinomoto Elementary School there. As well as the other shops and atmosphere of the town, the bakery has nostalgic and peaceful vibes.
‘We want to be a memorable bread’
It’s a concept of Tsuruya.
For my kids, that concept has been already completed, since the bakery provides their breads for lunch at the local kindergarten. My kids love Tsuruya bakery. Though these hot days, they tend to choose soft ice cream
Especially, the original bread ‘salad pan’ is famous for its uniqueness. It’s a bun bread filled with mayonnaise pickles. Since its well known for local speciality in Shiga, many tourists visit to get it.
It was invented by the founder’s wife in 1962, both the taste and package never has been changed. Well, please try it if you can’t imagine the taste!
There various unique bread and fresh handmade sándwiches are also good.
