Confectionary : Kadoya

At the corner where Kinomoto Jizosaka street and Hokkoku Kaido intersect, you’ll find Kadoya, founded in 1930 and currently operated by its third generation.

Japanese original sweets

Renowned for its traditional Japanese sweets such as Steamed red beans bars(decchi yokan), Kusamochi(red sweet beans mochi), Kadoya also offers original confections worth exploring. These treats are crafted with local rich ingredients like Ibuki milk and locally sourced chicken eggs. Unique offerings include Snow Tofu Cake made with soy milk cream, healthy donuts incorporating tofu, and soy sauce pudding featuring Daikou soy sauce—a taste experience unique to Kinomoto.

Swiss roll cakes

Among the town’s specialty products available for purchase are items with a longer life, ensuring you can bring home a taste of nostalgia town. Personally, I find myself irresistibly drawn to their Swiss roll cakes, especially recommending the Matcha roll cake with diced yokan.

The fluffy sponge and fresh cream combination is simply divine. Upstairs, in the café space, you can enjoy these delights with coffee while gazing upon the Jizo-in Temple.

Kadoya is not just a confectionery; it’s a gateway to experiencing the flavors and ambiance of Kinomoto firsthand.
