“Biwiichi,” or the “Lake Biwa Circuit,” is a popular cycling route that spans approximately 234 kilometers around Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture. Known for its scenic beauty and cultural landmarks, Biwaiichi offers a delightful experience for tourists.
Along Biwaichi, cyclists can enjoy the pristine waters of Lake Biwa and picturesque lakeside views. In spring, cherry blossoms adorn the route, while summer attracts visitors for swimming and fishing activities. Autumn showcases stunning foliage, and winter offers serene snowy landscapes.
The area around Lake Biwa also boasts historical sites and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore places like Hikone Castle and traditional Shigaraki pottery kilns, enriching their cultural experience.
Situated in the Kansai region, Shiga Prefecture is easily accessible from Osaka and Kyoto, making it convenient for day trips. Since most cyclists start the circuit from Otsu, our guesthouse is located at the stay for the night.
