Local farmer’s market in Kinomoto Station OKAN

If you drop off at Kinomoto Station, the first place you’ll see is a farmer’s market, OKAN.
It’s on the first floor of the station and recently renewed market.
In the Kansai region dialect, OKAN means “mother”. When you call the mother OKAN, I feel it sounds more charming. In fact, since my husband grew up in Osaka, he calls his mother ‘OKAN’. My son 5 years old still doesn’t call me that way. (Probably in the near future he will?)

In the store, you can get local-grown rice, soba noodles, beans, fresh vegetables, fruits, and some local delicacies; sake, miso, soy sauce and Japanese sweets, fermented crucian carp sushi as local speciality, etc. Also, some SAMURAI products of seven spear warriors.

Since tourist information is in the same place, Free wi-fi and English maps are available and you can rent bikes or e-bikes by day.

Waiting for the next train, how about having a break with bamboo charcoal coffee?
