Do you like claw machines? In Japan, they are enjoyed by both adults and children alike, and you can find them in game centers, shopping malls, and tucked away in corners of supermarkets.
Ever since a huge claw machines specialty store opened nearby our guesthouse in Takatsuki, it has become a popular spot, with its expansive parking lot filling up on weekends. The store boasts about 500 machines, offering two types of games: one costing 10 yen and the other 100 yen. The prizes range widely from snacks to daily necessities, miscellaneous goods, stuffed toys, and anime figures.
At home, we have Pokémon stuffed toys and keychains that my children won there. Rumor has it that it’s the easiest claw machines store to win prizes in Japan, with YouTubers even visiting the store. Indeed, you’ll see many cars from other prefectures parked there. It’s quite interesting inside the store, so visiting once might be really fun!
